Touch Probes for Tool Measurement and Inspection

TT 120, TT 130

The TT is a three-dimensional touch trigger probe for measuring and inspecting tools within the working space of the machine. The trigger signal is formed through a highly reliable, wear-free optical sensor.

Tool Measurement

If the appropriate functions are integrated in the NC control, It can use the TT to measure tool length and diameter, including the length and diameters of individual teeth. The NC automatically saves the results of measurement in the tool tables. With the TT, the NC system can measure tool wear during machining and automatically compensate it during subsequent machining. Finally, the TT makes it possible to check mounted tools for breakage before use.

The TT is fastened in a T-slot of the machine table by a bolt through an adapter. Since the probe contact is pre-aligned to the mounting surface, no further adjustment is required. Alternatively, the TT can be mounted by fixing clamps.

The standard disk probe contact assures protection against collision because the diameter of the touch probe housing is smaller than the disk diameter. If smaller probe contacts are used, collision protection is provided by the housing cap. The TT three-dimensional touch probe features an IP 67 degree of protection.

No alignment is required when replacing the probe contact. It is simply screwed into a precision guide in the touch probe.

The TT 120 is designed for connection to HEIDENHAIN contouring controls of the TNC 400 series.

The TT 130 is for connection to NC controls with 15-V touch probe input.
