3-D Touch Probes

3-D touch probes from HEIDENHAIN were conceived for use on machine tools — particularly for milling machines and machining centers. 3-D touch probes help to reduce setup times, increase machine utilization rates, and improve the dimensional accuracy of the finished workpieces. Setup, measuring and inspection functions can be conducted manually or — with most NC controls — under program control.

TS and TT Triggering 3-D Touch Probes

TS three-dimensional Touch Trigger Probe System

The stylus of the TS three-dimensional touch trigger probe system is deflected upon contact with the workpiece surface. The TS outputs a trigger signal that is transmitted to the control either via cable (TS 220 and TS 230) or over an infrared transmission path (TS 632). The control synchronously saves the actual position values as measured by the machine axis encoders and uses them for programming and machining.

TT three-dimensional Touch Trigger Probe Systems

TT three-dimensional triggering touch probes are used to measure tools. When a locked or rotating tool touches the contact plate, the plate leaves its rest position, which releases a trigger signal to the NC control.
