Important - Before You Download!

1. DO NOT download, copy, or unzip any files directly into an application directory (e.g., C:\QC4000\ or C:\QC5000\). Doing so may damage or corrupt any existing files and/or negate any installation attempts.
2. Some of the files available for download from this page are marked with asterisks (*). If a file is followed by an asterisk, then information or instructions specific to this file will appear on the page just below that file's link. Match the number of asterisks after the file link (e.g., *, **, etc.) with the number of asterisks preceding the information presented shortly after it. It is strongly advised you read all available information and/or instructions. Failure to do so may result in damaged files and/or a failed installation.
3. Most of the files posted on this page are stored in PKZIP format (*.zip). You will need a utility program to extract (unzip) the contents of these files. We supply a link to Niko Mak's WinZip (see below), but you may use any utility program that will function similarly.
4. On most links, when you left-click on a file download link, you will be prompted to either "Run this program from its current location" or "Save this program to disk." You should select "Save this program to disk," then select a location on your hard drive to save the file. It is recommended that you create an empty directory in which to save the files. If not, make sure you remember where you saved the downloaded files. After all downloads have been completed, you will need to work with the files in the directory you selected.
5. Do not download any files (regardless of size) directly to a floppy disk. All downloaded files should be saved to hard drive; then copied to a floppy, as necessary.
6. Do not unzip any files (regardless of size) directly to a floppy disk. These files (*.zip) should be copied to a diskette, then copied to the target system's hard drive. After all of files have been transferred to the system that will be using them, unzip them into an empty directory. Additionally, if you have the extra hard drive space, you should keep a copy of all downloaded Zip files on your system as a backup.

Instructions on installing Patch 2: Download the below zip file and extract the contents of the zip file into a temporary folder of your choice.  To install the QC4000 v1.97 Patch 2 double click on the setup.exe file contained in the files you just extracted.

** The procedure for installing the software from these four files is as follows (you will need 4 blank formatted floppy disks):

1. Download the linked zip files to the hard drive of the system you are currently working on.
2. Copy each zip file (4k197-1.zip, 4k197-2.zip, 4k197-3.zip, & 4k197-4.zip) directly to its own floppy (do not unzip).
3. Create an empty folder on the hard drive of the system to receive the files.
4. Copy each zip file from the floppy disks to the newly created empty directory on the receiving system.
5. Unzip the contents of all 4 zip files (using WinZip) into the same directory.
6. Run SETUP.EXE and follow the on-screen directions.

*** The procedure for installing Patch #1 is as follows (you will need 1 blank formatted floppy disk):

1. Download Patch #1 (4k197-p1.exe) to the hard drive of the system you are currently working on.
2. Copy Patch #1 (4k197-p1.exe) directly to the floppy disk (do not unzip).
3. Create an empty folder on the hard drive of the system to receive this file.
4. Copy Patch #1 (4k197-p1.exe) from the floppy disks to the newly created empty directory on the receiving system.
5. Run "4k197-p1.exe". By default, a directory will be created in the following location:

C:\4k197-p1\

6. Run SETUP.EXE and follow the on-screen directions.

**** Left-click to view in browser, or right-click, then select "Save Target As..." (for Internet Explorer) to save to your hard drive.

Caution:  Do not attempt to update your QC5000's Windows operating system to a newer version.  Contact your distributer or OEM for details and assistance regarding any changes or upgrades to your existing Windows operating system.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOAD VERSION 2.31 SOFTWARE ON A QC-5000 RUNNING VERSION 1.X SOFTWARE. IF YOU HAVE MACHINE RUNNING VERSION 1.X SOFTWARE AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE, CONTACT YOUR DEALER.

QC-5000 version 2.31 - Complete

* Self-extracting files are zipped files that can be unzipped without a utility program (e.g., WinZip, etc.). To unzip the contents, run the program by double-clicking on it. By default, the files listed above will unzip to your Windows desktop. It is advised that you use the default location. You can, however, select an alternate location during the unzipping process.

** This self-extracting archive will automatically extract the release notes to your Windows desktop.

* The procedure for installing the QC-4000 Video Driver is as follows:

1. Download the linked zip file (viddrv.zip) to the hard drive of the system you are currently working on.
2. Create an empty folder on the hard drive of that system.
3. Unzip the contents of the zip file (viddrv.zip) to the newly created directory.
4. Copy the unzipped contents to a blank floppy disk.
5. Insert this disk into the QC-4000 system floppy drive.
6. Run "A:\Setup" from the floppy drive and follow the on-screen directions.

** This single file download (2.66 meg.) is aimed towards systems that have direct access to the Internet or when large capacity removable media (Zip drive, CD/R, etc.) will be used to transfer this software to a different computer.
